  • Even water distribution to all areas of your landscape
  • Proper zoning for different plant types and sun exposure
  • Reduced risk of overwatering, root rot, and soil erosion
  • Long-term savings on water bills and maintenance costs

Best Time for Sprinkler System Design & Install in Utah

The best time to install a new sprinkler system or upgrade an existing one is during early spring or fall. Cooler temperatures and lower water demands allow the system to be set up without stressing new plants or sod. Additionally, planning your Sprinkler System Design & Install before summer ensures your landscape is fully prepared for Utah’s hot, dry months. Our team carefully times installations to minimize disruption to your lawn while maximizing efficiency and long-term results.

How We Design a Sprinkler System

Every new system we install is a Rain Bird system, laid out for the way the yard will actually be planted, not for a rectangle of grass. Beds get drip. Turf gets heads spaced for head-to-head coverage. Zones are split by plant water needs, so a native bed is not on the same schedule as bluegrass.

In a drought year that design work matters more than the hardware. Northern Utah’s secondary water districts have been turning on later, shutting off earlier and asking for less use in between. A system designed for the site can keep a lawn alive on far less water than an old system spraying the sidewalk, and we can usually show you where the savings will come from before we dig.

Timing: the irrigation goes in before sod, before beds and before hardscape. If you are planning a new yard, the sprinkler layout is the first drawing we do, because every other decision depends on where the lines run.

Warranty: one year on our installation labor, plus Rain Bird’s manufacturer warranty on defective parts.

Water-wise does not mean no water. It means the water goes where the roots are and nowhere else.
