Our Landscaping Services
Elevating Outdoor Living in Utah
Serving Morgan, Ogden, Layton, and Beyond Since 2007
Renegade Landscapes started in Morgan in 2007 as a weekend sprinkler-repair business. Steve Winn took it over in 2019, kept the repair trucks running, and built it into a full landscape design, installation and irrigation company. Today the same crews that change a sprinkler head on Monday are building a backyard in Layton on Tuesday.
About 160 households in the Morgan area have us out every spring and fall, and our longest customer has been with us since 2008. We are licensed as a Utah S330 landscape contractor and insured, we install Rain Bird systems, and every installation carries a one-year warranty on our labor. Call (801) 921-8929 and talk to us about your yard.

Customized Solutions for Your Unique Outdoor Space
What Sets Us Apart
Every estimate is a walk-through, in your yard, with the owner. We lay the project out with a laser and marking paint so you can see the grade change, the wall and the trench before you see the number, and most of the time you have a price before Steve leaves.
What Sets Us Apart?
- Owner on every estimate: Steve walks every job, usually on a Thursday, and quotes it himself.
- One-year warranty: On our labor and installation, plus Rain Bird’s warranty on irrigation parts.
- No minimum job: A single sprinkler head or a six-figure backyard, same crews, same warranty.
- Honest about price: We are rarely the cheapest bid. We trim scope to fit a budget, never the quality.
- Water-wise by design: Drip zones, drought-tolerant turf and systems set to your district’s rules.

What Steve Tells Every Caller
Three things Steve says on nearly every first call, so you can hear them before you pick up the phone.
How estimates work
Estimates are free and usually on Thursdays. Steve walks the yard with you for about an hour and lays the project out with a laser and marking paint. If you are getting other bids, tell us: our first question is whether anything the other companies did or did not do is holding you back, so we can address it on the spot.
Most of the time, a price before he leaves. Otherwise by the end of the day.
What things cost, honestly
What makes a project expensive is the part nobody thinks about: the 180 feet of gas line that crosses every sprinkler lateral, the truck that cannot reach the backyard on a tight lot, the two and a half feet of fill under the patio. We show you those before you see the number. We are rarely the cheapest bid. We will trim a scope to fit a budget; we will not trim the work to fit a price.
No minimum. From a $100 sprinkler head to six-figure backyards, same one-year warranty.
When to call
Bidding starts in March, or February in a warm year, and by April the spring list is long. Plan three to five months ahead for a bigger project, book fall tree planting in June, and call for a sprinkler startup in March, not the week the water turns on.
Call in December or January and you are at the front of the spring list. No time is too early. There is a time too late.
Honest, hardworking and fair. Not a hundred trucks and a call center. Still Steve.
